“If you are considering a game changer experience to your country, family and yourself, consider applying to be an ITTP member.”

It is absolutely fair to say that my tenure in ITTP was the best years of my life. It’s been almost 15 years ago and every day I feel joy remembering my days in Daejeon or some episode with my colleagues and Professors. Looking back and comparing my life before and after joining ITTP, I believe this was the greatest turning point in my professional career. Some people asked me why leave everything behind in Brazil, including friends, family, salary, job, … and moving to South Korea to become a student. In fact I don’t have a precise answer (probably I will never have) but I am absolutely certain that it was the best decision I could make. Of course, this choice means you are choosing the most difficult path to grow up, including studying hard, adapting to foreign languages and culture and so on, but these hardships are common to all brave people who decide to pursue an academic scholarship somewhere. Truth is ITTP Professors and Staff always made sure I had all necessary resources to perfectly adapt to this wonderful country and thrive to became a more educated person and collaboration actor for the benefit of The Republic of Korea and Brazil. I miss you every day, my Friends!

Bonus: ask Professor Rho what is the difference between chasing the puck and foresee where the puck will be. That’s the secret sauce!

I am a proud staff of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) responsible for stakeholder engagement in Brazil and other South America countries. I joined ICANN in 2014 right after returning from Korea to Brazil. Before joining ICANN, I worked for the Embassy of Brazil in Seoul as Science and Technology Advisor to Ambassador Edmundo Fujita.

If you are considering a game changer experience to your country, family and yourself, consider applying to be an ITTP member. You will never regret. Congratulations to ITTP for the 16th anniversary, we are all so proud of you. All recognition should also go to the organizations and people managing and supporting ITTP: the Government of the Republic of Korea, KAIST, Professor Jae Jeung Rho, Professor Young Sun Kwon (my beloved PhD Advisor), Professor Seung Hun Han, Director MunKee Choi, Professor Young Suk Chun, Professor Tae Yoon Jang, Ms. Eun Young Park, ALL Professors, ALL staff.

Long live to ITTP!
